"REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROGRAMME IN TURKEY"
GRANT SCHEME
The Financing Agreement of “Programme of Reproductive Health in Turkey”, which directly supports the activities carried out by the Ministry of Health with the objective of increasing the utilization and accessibility of sexual and reproductive health services, has been signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the European Commission. The duration of the programme is 4 years.
Within the scope of this programme, grants will be provided to Civil Society Organizations (CSO) working in this field in order to ensure that their capacity to undertake joint activities with the public is strengthened, the objective being increasing the demand for Sexual and Reproductive Health services and service utilization.
It is intended within the scope of the grant scheme to support CSO projects about community based services like advocacy, Behavioral Change Communication (BCC), social marketing and peer education needed in such fields of reproductive health as safe motherhood, family planning, STI/HIV/AIDS, adolescent health and male reproductive health.
Within this mainframe, the first call for proposals was announced on January 28, 2004 and 71 proposals were recieved from various CSOs, out of which 27 were awarded as to benefit from grant scheme.
The Notice for the SECOND call for proposals for Projects of Civil Society Organisations was advertised on December 29, 2004.
